Summary:

Responsibilities:
- Installs and maintains battery storage systems and EV chargers according to engineering designs, permits and electrical code
- Completes site assessments, documenting all necessary information to prepare for an installation
- Submits service reports immediately following work order completion
- Collaborates closely with manufacturers and engineering team to resolve technical issues
- Utilizes knowledge, skills, and electrical testing equipment to commission systems and evaluate system issues
- Identifies solutions to resolve technical design problems, including electrical systems used during construction
- Manages vehicle-material stock and equipment inventory
- Maintains compliance with all Safety policies and practices
- Provides training to customers about system operation and maintenance
- Manages and resolves customer concerns and issues in a timely manner; communicates and documents progress to customer and relevant employees
- Documents key communications in appropriate software

Summary:
The Technical Manager (TM) is an integral team member assessing new market opportunities and quarterbacking key residential and commercial projects and initiatives. The TD is an accountable individual contributor, but is also a key, customer-facing representative of EcoSolar USA and its innovative technologies. It is common for the TD to represent EcoSolar USA in customer and stakeholder meetings and major conferences and trade shows. The TD provide effective communication on product features and benefits and technical concepts to meet the customer’s needs. The TD will lead the project management activities and deployment of solar systems at customer sites in coordination with EcoSolar USA’s installation teams. This will span from early technical sales support to specifying systems and oversight of system installation and commissioning. The primary function of the role is to manage owner and project expectations and controls, report internally and externally to appropriate stakeholders, manage project teams and oversee project progress through all phases of solar installation services. Importantly, TD will have “cradle to grave” responsibility and accountability for assigned projects and specific equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all technical aspect of solar installation from site survey to completion of the project including job safety and protocol.
- Maintain project schedules, develop project timelines, and manage people and materials to complete jobs on schedule and within budget guidelines for assigned projects.
- Review project plans, specifications & installation instructions to ensure that the project is built according to the approved design and specifications.
- Oversee site surveys including detailed measurements of roof and ground surfaces, document structural framing and roof system makeup and electrical system configuration.
- Conduct site safety assessments for feasibility and identify all safety hazards on job-site, lead daily safety meetings.
- Successfully manage multiple projects through all phases.
- Direct interface with customer on technical and product questions.
- Manage Sub-contractors.
- Independently manage performance and productivity of installation subcontractors for energy storage projects.
- Coordinate the delivery of material and equipment to optimize job efficiency, ensure
production is not impacted or additional cost incurred.

- Troubleshoot PV system performance issues, locate and isolate ground faults.
- Perform OEM testing, troubleshooting, repairs and upgrades/revisions to a broad range of equipment in the renewable industry.
- Ensure that workers and operators are working in a safe manner.
- Responsible for quality assurance for all work performed by the crew and sub-contractors.
- Maintain expertise of commercial and residential scale solar products, interconnection & permitting processes and installation & commissioning practices and provide training to junior designers
- Develop and enforce system design standards, processes, policies and cost analysis guidelines and train the junior designers on implementation.
- Must be able to react and remedy production related issues as they arise in the field.
- Manage vendor relationships to ensure adequate and current technical training on detailed engineering requirements is maintained
- Communicate with internal and external customers as required.
- Provide technical system design related training and support to sales team.
- Accountable for all rental and borrow equipment from warehouse.

Requirements:
- BA/BS degree in Business, Technical, or Science discipline or
- 7+ years of experience in clean fuel or energy industry
- Strong acknowledge of Electric Code and National Electric Code.
